Parting Is All We Know of Heaven
“Parting Is All We Know of Heaven and All We Need to Know of Hell”
Quote from Emily Dickinson’s poem “My Life Closed before Its Close”
his soul rose, taking an angel’s hand
though my head lay upon his chest
free of pain, he joined a band of cherubs
peace was his, though I mourned
years ahead without my husband
seemed like punishment
but Dickinson’s words brought comfort
glad I am that I knew his love
and can accept the hell of loss
knowing we will reunite when eternity beckons me
