Parting Is All We Know of Heaven

“Parting Is All We Know of Heaven and All We Need to Know of Hell” Quote from Emily Dickinson’s poem “My Life Closed before Its Close”
his soul rose, taking an angel’s hand though my head lay upon his chest free of pain, he joined a band of cherubs peace was his, though I mourned years ahead without my husband seemed like punishment but Dickinson’s words brought comfort glad I am that I knew his love and can accept the hell of loss knowing we will reunite when eternity beckons me

To have loved John, and he, you is a blessing all by itself, my dear friend. The pain is still there but think about the joy of your re-uniting one day in another place and time where nothing will ever come between you both ever again! Take heart Carolyn. Beautiful piece of poetry! Much love, Audrey

Very lyrical and poetic, even though the pain shines through. Love is a wonderful thing. It would be great if loving couples could just walk hand in hand together, full of years, through the doors of eternity, but the reality is different. None of us know how long we have on this earth, so we have to be grateful for each new day. I believe we'll all meet again. Love, Robert.
