Parody of Angels
She offered him a sticky apple from her velvet palm
he a poor beggar on the street was living in the dim
until her angel eyes found him looking , ...up
his sleeping bag was soiled, his hair was matted
wine eyes that said "I've been hungry far too long "
footsteps passed, retrieved, passed again
underneath a noisy bridge a blinding Light was seen
a clap of thunder and soon the girl was gone . None
were less for it none were better more,
except the man who got up like old Lazarus to walk
she offered him two chubby arms and a smile that
broke the sun. He didn't see her until he looked,
at her.
