Pardon Me - Amanda Part 5
She:
I did not realise.
He:
I could have given her the world then.
Died for her, but it was not meant to be.
I gave up, that was the hardest thing I have ever endured.
I spent an entire two years without courtship.
She:
Maybe……….
Maybe it was meant to be.
Look at how we met
I was young, stupid, and maybe even delusional.
He:
It is alright, we get past these rough edges.
I must say you have not altered a bit.
You still look very much ravishing.
Even at the tender age of 65.
I’m sure, someone for you will come about.
She:
I thought…
Were you not courting…….
He:
No, I believe you got it wrong sweet Amanda.
As I said a few days ago, you looked a lot distraught.
I just wanted to lend an ear.
And give you an encounter.
To show you there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
Cliché, yes, but it is true.
I bear witness.
She:
Then why are you always here?
Just to lend an ear.
I thought….
He:
Pardon me, I keep cutting you off.
But my kids are done playing.
And if I do not return, my wife will start a brawl.
Pardon my sudden departure Amanda.
There is light at the end of your own tunnel.
Do not despaire.
it was quite a pleasure to see you again.
Please do keep well.
