One Last Summer

We had one last summer My dog and me One last time to be carefree Chasing squirrels in the park Catching our breath Walking home in the dark Cheating death Optimistic though cautious Thinking positive for sure Hoping and praying There might be a cure Loving every last minute Every warm summer’s day Golden memories forged Watching true love at play
