One Couple of Days

One couple of days, cloudless sky cried for streams to drink;
The birds couldn’t fly till they soared to the brink.
Meanwhile, sleep fled my bed—and within my dream,
I was speechless; the words I spoke filled a stream.

When I awoke, I snored for a long while;
When rain had ceased, I walked in heavy rains a mile.
Then a friend shouted my name he never knew—
In the cloudless sky, the cloud turned blue.
