On Tough Routes, But I Found You

We both were cliffs apart. You were laughing free and hard With people on your list of stars. I was all by my own- Rock circle full of spikes, Picking dead grass on the sides, Lost its green, not fit for sight. I couldn't go with the aimless flow. So tough, yet Not a dead fish Hoping to survive the cut. There you stood like you knew time and space so well. Always in front of me- your lips in a gentle twist of full pageantry. I lost myself in your almond eyes ' ' ' ' Like plotting graphs without grids, Like matching strings without nodes; Like completing puzzles without edges, Like solving questions without answers. ' ' ' ' My mind sways round and round. High-pitched screams bring back All awful memories- A past I couldn't hide well, Like plain papers stained with mud. I told no one but you, Praying my trust is worth its value; Yet you knew every word I needed. Can I just make you my drugs? Make me happy. Create my smile.
