On Love and Sleeo

ON LOVE & SLEEP
I wake up
From a
Nebulous
Nightmare
Where flame
Singes my hair.
Getting up
I am soothed
By the halogen
Of a full moon.
I slide
Back to bed
Falling deeply
Asleep,
And waking up
Again
I notice
A network
Of branches
That seem to
Touch the sky.
I enjoy
The blue
Tide of sunrise,
But am
Aware
Of the harsh
Truth serum
Of the street.
Marianne
Is talking
And laughing
In her sleep –
Her chuckles
Are like
Rose petals.
Her dreaming
Eyes
Are like
Stars.
I crawl
Back to bed
For just
A little longer,
Now, awakened
By her
Sweet sleeping
Smile.
