On a Passing Cloud There Floats a Dream
Some days are misery, and all is grey.
We search the sky and do not see one beam
of light from sun to take the gloom away,
yet on a passing cloud there floats a dream.
Hope never fails; we must keep going on.
Yes, shadows of some sleepless nights can seem
to linger dreadfully before the dawn,
yet on a passing cloud there floats a dream.
It’s good to wish upon the night’s first star
which you can spot as it begins to gleam.
Both stars and clouds seem far from where we are,
yet on a passing cloud there floats a dream.
Reach up and snatch your bright desire from sky,
for dreams and wishes from the heavens stream.
Hard rains may come, and you may heave a sigh,
yet on a passing cloud there floats a dream.
