open and so alive in the rays of the sun closed by five as late afternoon arrives scents to mingle in summer heat so bittersweet waxing in summer light perfumed petals paperwhite first intoxicate then delight a heady fragrance abstract hues our senses bloom to fill the night

Some flowers do "close" at night. Four o'clocks only bloom in the afternoon. Nicely presented, Brian.
