Odd Encounter

He fell asleep beneath a tree
One night when he was far from home,
It had become too dark to see,
It was too late for him to roam.

A noise above caused him to wake,
At first he could not see a thing,
Then knew that he could not mistake:
The face above was of the king.*

*Refers to Charles II hiding in the "Royal Oak" (Boscobel Wood) in 1651.

All of us fall asleep with the King above us. One day we will meet Him face to face. Hopefully his Son will be by our side.
