Not Since
Not since that time have we’ve known.
Not since those black, black nights have we grown.
Not since the those butterflies have flown.
Humanity forward strides then it holds.
Humanity counts the tides and then knows.
Humanity kills the light that it owns.
Not since our wings were clipped have we flown.
Not since Churchill’s words of rights have we been.
Not since those bitter times have we seen an evil tide try to wash the best of us so fu#king clean.
Our people struggle by on poor means.
Our elders face the dark not knowing what tomorrow means.
Our country begs and cries on its knees.
