Not Forgotten
Please forgive me, my beloved
That I’ve tried to fill the space
And the void that was created
When God took you from this place.
It is not you who was cheated,
Rather he who tried to fill
A heart that has not forgotten
And has shown it never will.
I didn’t try to hide from him
A sad fact he had to face,
My heart had in reservation
A “don’t enter” private place.
He and I grew old together
Until the time for him to go
And I’m now free to remember
That sweet love we used to know.
