Skipping to the pond with kettle in hand
The pond was dry and dock cracked, bleached gray
And the dry pond bottom produced only white sand
Running in a flurry to the large lake next to the bay
Swaying as I ran like a young child at play
Just a few steps which seemed a waltz away
Grand lake dry, boats anchored to what used to be
No water to boat, fish, frolic and just play
No water for my kettle to make summer's tea
What will we do? The ocean is too salty
