Image result for pictures of a dry lake or pond

Skipping to the pond with kettle in hand The pond was dry and dock cracked, bleached gray And the dry pond bottom produced only white sand Running in a flurry to the large lake next to the bay Swaying as I ran like a young child at play Just a few steps which seemed a waltz away Grand lake dry, boats anchored to what used to be No water to boat, fish, frolic and just play No water for my kettle to make summer's tea What will we do? The ocean is too salty

Jack, Yes, it is scary to think we might run out of water. It is possible or is it? Sara

Andrea, No I am not attached to this form but it doesn't have to have meter. I prefer to just write out on the porch kind of work and not be pressured to do anything special. Lazy I guess. Sara
