Across the ridges and peaks
Behind the mountain’s lore
Rides the night light I adore
A silent moon that soars
Creating a night of sweet accord
Lying high up in the sky
It moves so slowly that I do try
To capture its gentle essence
With my camera and lens
Create a reflection of the scene
Without a doubt, it does loom
Just in the sight of evening’s gloom
Taking up the night’s spirit
With a sense of intimate glistening
That shares time with dancing stars
I feel adoration for its beauty
Amid the twinkling stars that
Are sometimes going shooting
I love the allure of this glorious ball
Sending out chills into nights call
When the moon is so full and alive
I know just why God allows it to survive
With its welcoming light for night
It softly radiates all the nocturnal wonders
That unfold throughout the planet
