Night Comes Alone
Night comes alone
Across the sky
And finds unkown
The shrivelled sigh
Night falls sweetly
A delicious
Fruit, and weary
Souls are gracious
Night sobs her tears
Like diamonds
On leaves of cares
From shallow sands
Night lingers here
Against the wall
Her breast is bare
Soft footsteps call
Night lights the lamp
On misery
On dew falls damp
On memory
Night comes here deep
Among the trees
Where lovers keep
Their silent pleas
Night comes slowly
To the tired heart
Sobbing gently
From a star's dart
Night comes alone
To shut the eye
Cradling the moan
In valleys dry.
