Need Some Giving

Need Some Giving She laid down on the sweaty sheets Reminisced her night on the streets Her body sore from too much rough She vowed she'd really had enough She closed her eyes and prayed for sleep Then though her prayers she began to weep Lord how'd I get into this mess I wanted more you gave me less I've tried and tried to earn a living But they just take Lord, I need some giving..... She sat up and looked round the room It gave her a sense of impending doom Cigarette ends spilled to the floor Empty bottles and a whole lot more A tap dripped water into the sink Overflowing bins added to the stink Lord how'd I get into this mess I wanted more you gave me less I've tried and tried to earn a living But they just take Lord, I need some giving..... On the table she saw the pills Knew they could put an end to her ills Swallowed all washed down with ale Then hoped and prayed this wouldn't fail She laid down on the sweaty sheets Reminisced night until her final sleep Lord she got into a fine mess She wanted more but always got less She tried and tried to earn a living But tired of the take her life she's giving.....
