It was so misty in my forest dream
I was wandering 'till I heard a scream,
and I just knew I was slipping away;
for everything around faded to gray.
Mother had called,
so in the dark forest I crawled,
then, I was standing at God's golden gate.
I was at peace and accepted my fate,
then, God said no;
child you need to go back below.
I awoke in a hospital that day,
for weeks and weeks that dream was a replay;
I had stood waiting at the gates of death,
and given back the gift of breath.
So I knew then,
that this life is precious, amen.
I have but one life amazing and wild,
and I have been reborn like a new child;
full of wonder.
This precious life is my thunder!
