My Muse Awakes

My muse awakes from slumber deep Jolting these words within from sleep A sonnet comes to me in time And now my words begin to rhyme My muse rises from depths so steep Upon the page syllables leap Inspiration for me to keep As metaphors begin to chime My muse awakes A Rondeau from my muse will creep And from my pen the ink will seep While bringing meaning so sublime My muse is working overtime It's sown a poem I now reap My muse awakes! 7-30-19 Rondeau Poetry Contest Sponsor: Charles Messina
