My Home
I do not know what lies ahead
Unseen upon this path I tread.
I cannot know if the sun will shine
Or storm clouds darken this life of mine.
But unknown though my path may be,
There is someone who walks with me.
With love He guides my every step
And when I fall, He picks me up.
He speaks to me of a city bright
That needs no sun; God is its light.
A mansion for me will be prepared;
It awaits the end of my journey here.
I will join the redeemed of every age
Around the throne with songs of praise.
The face of my Father I shall behold;
He will give to me a crown of gold.
So what if thorns may pierce my feet
Or roses bloom in fragrance sweet.
I know when this earthly walk is done,
Heaven will be my eternal home.
