My Best Friend and Me

My best friend has been sick a lot. The winter’s been so bad. I get to go outside each day, but he can’t, and I’m sad. He’s looking out the window now. He’s smiling just for me. I know springtime will be here soon. How great play time will be! There’s so much for best friends to do. When Billy’s out here too, he’ll throw my ball for me to fetch. My brand-new ball is blue. We’ll go and wade in Papaw’s creek and eat our lunch outside. His wagon’s right here in the yard. He’ll let me have a ride. It’s time for me to go inside and check on my best friend. Soon he’ll be well; we’ll be okay ‘cause winter soon will end.
