Moment's Yield
I've covered my face,
shyed away.
I have kept myself
from falling into just another display.
Just this one moment,
I let my guard down.
This moment's yield,
it shattered my crown.
Your smile lit up the room,
your eyes shimmered like candlelights,
and I fell for the way you spoke to me,
the way it made me fall to my knees.
One moment's yield let me into your arms.
I didn't stop there,
I fell into your charm.
One moment's yield walked me to the bedrooms doors,
I didn't stop there,
I swam inside your songs.
One moment's yield laid me down next to you,
I didn't stop there,
Your heart was making mine beat too.
One moment's yield made me give up my soul,
but I didn't stop there,
you still wanted more.
One moment's yield took my life away,
but I didn't stop there,
I was your trophy to display.
