Mind Drifting
Mind Drifting
As the sun sinks slowly toward the horizon,my mind drifts 'twix past and present. I'm reminded of our children's visit, and the lovely time that was had by us all,
In the short time we shared we enjoyed good food, laughter, memories and plans.
When they first tell us they are visiting the gears kick in and we set into motion all that we need to do to be ready.
While I was having my evening meal on the veranda I was reading a book on unlocking the Bible and I got to thinking that was what we did.
The parable of the ten virgins came to mind. We were preparing for a royal visit from our Princesses and Princes.
We would clean and check that all was in order. That supplies were in so that we didn't have to detract from the visit to go to the shops. We ensured we had enough oil to last.
We will do the same again when our children come again in December and again if they decide to honor us next year,
and every year that The Good Lord blesses us with.
So, not a poem as such, just an insight as to how my mind drifts in my quiet time.
God Bless All, especially our children, for they are God's gift to His.
