Merry-Go-Round

My hand in yours, Your hand in mine; Holding on tight, Fingers entwine. Myriad promises, Between our palms; Reaching out across, With outstretched arms. Silent troths, Exchanged in breath; Keeping close, Condensed to warmth. We danced around, Round and round; In a merry-go-round, Of love profound. Like a game of Ring around a rosy; Whirling to the rhythm, Of love until dizzy. Colors around, blurred Into a spiral fantasy; Drunk with love, Hearts filled with ecstasy. Before my eyes, Your cheerful face; Against the surrounding, Fleeting space. Your laughter like The bells, jingling; Breaking the silence, With its music, tinkling. I surrendered to, The glory in your eyes; Hypnotized by, The honey in your voice. Lost myself in The maze of your soul; The hurricane of love, Swallowed me as a whole. Mesmerized by The magic of your touch; Pulled along, An erratic tornado as such. My naïve listlessness, Numbed my senses; And I don’t know when, Through the fences. Your fingers slipped, Away from mine; And you disappeared, Without a sign. I stand here confused, Lost in darkness; In an eccentric universe, Forlorn and dimensionless. I don’t even know, If it was my fault; To let you slip away And come to a halt. Or you cleverly escaped, My loosened grip; Before our relationship, Fell off the tip. All alone, lonely ,without you, Enveloped by an eerie emptiness; My solitary world is haunted, By your shadows, dark and faceless. Cast into a silent spell, I stand, motionless and still; But the abyss around me, Still spins in endless circles.
