May I Write You
May I write a small poem for you
To gently touch your darkened soul
May I caress your frightened world
To make a diamond from your coal
And would you read a page to turn?
To fill your heart, to make it whole
And ask your sensitive senses
To read poems, from my rolled scroll
Will words save you, from being lost?
When the cold shadows surround
Hurt by a trusting tenderness
When your faith has broken down
Can my poetry reach your heart?
Find quiet hidden tears you cry
And will they change pain's shackled bond?
To golden wings of butterflies
Will my poetry free your storms?
Will it help your heart to transform?
