The Masquerade of People
Catch my eyes, take my hand
Pull me in, hold me close
Behind this mask I pretend
In this life, no one knows
Masquerade, masquerade
This ain't nothin' but a
Masquerade, masquerade
Masquerade, masquerade
This ain't nothing but a
Masquerade, masquerade
I close my eyes ever so briefly
Will this day never end quickly
I know I have chosen this path
Could i have faced less wrath!
My day is over let the evening begin.
I question is my mask a sin
This ain't nothin' but a
Masquerade, masquerade
Masquerade, masquerade
This ain't nothing but a
Masquerade, masquerade
Facing the mirror I am full of questions
Can someone out there listen to my confession?
I put my pretty dress and mask on
To the dancing music I am drawn
This ain't nothin' but a
Masquerade, masquerade
Masquerade, masquerade
This ain't nothing but a
Masquerade, masquerade
I lay in my bed the night is done
My mask still firmly on
Others lives I don't judge
Your own mask I won't smudge
