Love Kept Them Both Alive-

her eyes were glacier ice blue as she kicked the dew from her shoe her hair was buttercup blonde as she glided her hand on top of the pond her skin was an untouched tan as she stood on the edge of the field to scan for her home bound soldier man who was returning from a land beyond who stayed alive for a flag that flew and a love so true

This is so timely now as soldiers return from the Mideast. How difficult it must be to await their return, not knowing if they will survive. The woman in this poem is beautiful, inside and out, maintaining her vigil for the "home bound soldier man." The image of the woman is as clear as a painting. Beautiful reflection on a scenario that is played out every day this war continues. Love, Carolyn
