Love Dies Hard
Love dies hard--
the warrior side
of our nature, to the death
against all odds;
love dies pathetic, the whimpering
side of our nature, jelly refusing
to settle, trembling with each
ensuing alone vibration;
Love dies? This we cannot
agree upon, not the warrior side
of our nature, nor the trembling
jelly; known by the great weaver
who goes both above and below--
the heaven of it all
the hell of it all
the death of us all—but love,
independent, I think
goes on….
