Lost In the Season

Breathing the day as the sun wanders by Claiming a slice of its glow Walking a path neath this wintertime sky Chilly the breezes a' flow Evergreen melodies bring on a smile Here in these moments so clear Lost in the season, I'll stay here a while My favorite time of the year

Was this in regard to Texas' winters? I lived there 24 years and never could fall in love with the nature as I have and do elsewhere (like here in Virginia.) But, I love the beauty in this poem and its feel that refreshes and reminds one's appreciation of seasonal gifts. A joy to read. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Captures the spirit of the season, for sure. Best phrase, IMHO, is "evergreen melodies" which at first I read as "evergreen memories" ;-)

Looks like a whole bunch of folks spotted you here way afore I did! I was so excited to see a Dec posting - somehow I missed this as POTD. You're one of my favorite writers on Soup, your talent is consistently impressive, poem after poem, so you mustn't be so vacant! Now, if Daniel Turner would just check in. This is as beautiful as your consistency consistently delivers, a real delight. BE WELL and be present, yes? CayCay
