Long Nights
Dark clouds hover
over me nonstop.
Rain continues to
pour profusely.
Rainbows don't
exist in my world.
The sun has taken
a permanent
vacation.
Birds are mute and
no longer sing.
The rooster no longer
informs me of
a new dawn.
I now live on
Melancholy Lane.
The moon has lost its
glow; stars don't shine.
Days don't exist, and
nights are very long.
When you left, my
love, I became a
permanent
resident of
Melancholy Lane.
