Long Ago, Again

I never said it to you blind you were not, after all. But then when there was no way forward I could have said something, like: I want to stay here, in this place, now that there still is a feeling of your hand in mine. I don't need you to remember, but I want to say it now, this once, I want to look this once into your eyes when I say it so that I have something to get back to from beyond time and place a signpost in the world, a candle in the dark: I love you
