Lonely World

I’m taken a new lover Loneliness now shares my bed Its embrace so soothing That pain we both know well We’ve learned to share And escape together If only for a little while Soothing becoming smothering Escape but an illusion There’s really no rescue Loneliness intoxicating It’s all so ever haunting I should just accept that Loneliness may now be The whole of my world Filling the emptiness inside AP: Honorable Mention 2020 Submitted on January 28, 2019 for contest ULTIMATE JANUARY 2019 sponsored by BRIAN STRAND - RANKED 1ST Originally posted on November 14, 2017

Been there, felt that, hated it. You delivered the loneliness, made it palatable and easy to relate to. Why or why, I always wonder, when so many are lonely, can't they gather? If only it were that easy. A touching write and may lonely be but a season for a reason that bears an ending. Blessings ... CayCay
