Like Sand Into the Sea
I don’t want you to slip away
Those words, once said to me
As I approached my moving day
A dear friend made this plea
And though with every sweet intent
Of always keeping touch
I feared intentions would relent
It proved to be as such
I know, I’ve tried to do my part
To keep my treasured friends
But life, like affairs of the heart
Does not, what it intends
And so, I forgive those I’ve lost
And hope they forgive me
As sometimes, we just slip away
Like sand into the sea
