Life On Hold.....

Always on the verge of what is to come. Waiting for that feeling of peace when it's done. I'm holding my breath, but I can't let it out. No sense of release, I can't cry, I can't shout. This feeling of dread, it just won't stop. Like I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm standing on the sidelines, and my life is the game. A no-win situation that always ends the same. The tension I feel just keeps growing, and growing. The wear and tear of this stress on my body is showing. Never finding peace, no sense of relief. What I would give for some rest, no matter how brief. Waking in the morning feeling rested, serene. Embracing a day where my slate is wiped clean. Oh, what a great day that one would be. A day to exhale, and enjoy being me.

I have a line in my head Kirstie that always returns when I feel what I think you are feeling in this poem."I am a man without wings who has a need to fly" I don't know about out there but as for right here " You are not alone unless you chose to be.Chose wisely what works for you and be bold !

Anxiety and stress fill our days, Kirstie. While we long for peace and serenity, there are only brief periods during which we experience such sensations. "Waking in the morning" and feeling like our slates have been wiped clean is one of those times. Excellent reflection on the quest for serenity! Love, Carolyn

GREAT poem, Kirstie! NOw I SEE why my GETAWAY poem would sound appealing to you!! I do know that silent creeping feeling of dread. I have it to a small extent every time I pause to ponder our economy and the terrible situation that so many americans are in today. LUv, Andrea ps.
