Lay Down Misere

When I sat down the other day,
I did my best to write a Lay,
I racked my brains for an idea
For some subject I might revere,
Since "love" would be too hard to rhyme,
I thought maybe I'd stick to crime,
For, as we all appreciate,
One can soon find a rhyme for "hate."
