A lavender rose Placed on the bed beside her Where he longs to be He picked this rose just for her True love without history He feels so alone The love just flows one way Nature can be cruel Without the gift of vision She can't know love at first sight Pick a Rose Contest

Incredibly, those last two lines. The only real advantage to blindness, that I can think of, is that you will never judge a person based on appearance. Only the real person will be visible to them. Everything else is unknown... I hope you do well in the contest!

Lovely in every way. I'm sure you will do superbly well in the contest. What a lovely color for the rose. My covers on FB are always displaying lavender colored flowers...my favorite. Your tanka flows well, Richard.

I am colored blind so sadly I can not fully appreciate flowers. I do love the scent.

I enjoyed seeing your take on lavender. that was MY choice in the contest as well. It's very nice to see the colors folks picked because I think it says something about them. You must be a romantic!
