Keep It Raw
Keep it raw means keep it real
If it ain't rough,
then it ain't raw
If it ain't raw,
then it ain't real
Now are you starting to feel
what I feel
Keeping it raw means
don't be no vegetable
Don't be a lettuce head
getting tossed in a ghetto salad bowl
Please don't be misled
by every wind that blow
Please don't go to sleep outside
in the blizzard snow
Keeping it real means
don't be no fruit loop
Don't be a tomato head
getting stewed in a suburban salad soup
Stay raw to the changes bruising your skin,
checkout of the fantasy land you been living in
Black be the clothes of funeral blues
And if you're poor,
more newly minted problems is just old news
Keep it real,
keep it raw
Right now, frozen progress ain't on the thaw
Keep it raw,
keep it real
Those jacked civil rights
is falling back down that slippery Capitol Hill
