I took the bus my darling,
the scenery was lovely,
I brought you a red rose,
and now I stand weeping.
Do not be sad my sweet wife,
my time was finished,
you know I suffered,
Now, I am at peace,
I dwell with God above,
one day, my dear you will also.
Let God into your heart my dear, just let him in . . .
Oh, but I miss you so much husband,
your voice, your touch, your love. (oh yes)
Oh, we did have a wonderful life, dear wife,
just us together, praising God. (oh yes)
Husband, it was amazing our time together,
talking over tea, going for long drives,
darling, you taught me so much,
so many things I cannot even recall.
But, my darling husband, I wish to break this chain of grief,
and let go of all who lay with you beneath my feet . . .
Oh, but I miss you so much, husband,
your voice, your touch, your love. (oh yes)
Oh, we did have a wonderful life, dear wife,
just us together, praising God. (oh yes)
My dear, all who dwell with me are at peace with God . . .
We are beyond all earthly pain,
we rest in the arms of God forevermore.
I must go, my darling husband but I will be back,
I will light a candle in our church,
and your spirit will stand beside me in praise.
Let God into your heart my dear, just let him in . . .
Oh, but I miss you so much, husband,
your voice, your touch, your love. (oh yes)
Oh, we did have a wonderful life, dear wife,
just us together praising God. (oh yes, oh yes, oh yes . . . )
