Just One Glance
I threw my thoughts into the brook, watched them float away
Too many things to figure out all in one day
Jumping rope through time, grasping the unknown
The unexpected often happens, time has shown
I’ve spent much of my life trying to survive
Fighting many types of things, just to stay alive
It has become something conditional for me
Just as the outcomes thereafter, are to see
Sometimes, I just want a hand to hold
As thoughts crumpled on paper, unfold
Reminding me there is so much more
To reach again for the next open door
The brook took my thoughts, gurgling laughter to hear
Then, I tossed in a wish for you to be near
The trees started swaying in a breeze filled dance
The light on water changed, in just one glance
I could hear you and feel you, the closer you were
Approaching me and calming my feelings that stir
Somehow, everything would soon be alright
As the brook took my thoughts into the night
