Judgement

Don’t judge because they look dirty Are strange and don’t seem to care Don’t judge because they have no direction And live in the “Land of Nowhere” Don’t judge because they scare you Or don’t respond as you may do Don’t judge because they are different Are not the same as you We all have our own story For some written in a horror book Never having a childhood As their innocence it took In this vast ocean of life Many struggle to guide their boat To escape is to survive Just to keep afloat Stuck in deep dark murky water Being dragged under struggling to swim Desperately looking for that distant lighthouse Hoping it will guide them in So next time you make a judgement One of disgust ,disdain or fury Just stop ,take a moment and consider Who made you Judge and Jury ?

POTD material here, Deb. I love the poem, made it a FAV. Powerful rebuke to all that judge without credentials. We do not know the troubles they've seen and haven't walked a mile in their shoes, as the old saying goes. Thanks for the wise advice. A poet friend in Texas, Bill
