My mom tries to tell me,
“You have to try on lots of jeans to find the right pair”
But why should I go about
Trying on jeans
I don’t even like?
Humans are not articles of clothing
You can’t simply try them, and throw them to the side
if they aren’t what you expected.
The hardest part of this philosophy is
The empty drawers filled with cobwebs
Because sometimes you feel a little bit lonely
And you really wish you had a pair of jeans
But upon reflecting
I feel it is better to have no jeans
Than jeans that don’t fit.
And if this means
For the time being
I don’t have any jeans
Then I guess
I can just be comfortable
In my own skin.
