Indescribable Joy Is...

a glass of chilled lemonade, and a bookmark that shepherds the pages of your paperback.. each time you shift your bespectacled gaze.. to where your three-year old frolics with friends and the family dog, playing peek-a-boo with tiny crabs crawling sideways on the smooth wet sand.. as the wavelets of the sea roll with carefree mischief, and smooch the shore, teasingly, with the sun in the sky smiling down on all and sundry.. and you squint as you grope for the bookmark that fell silent on your sandy toe, as shattered sunlight dance like shimmering shadows.. streaking through coconut palms that jubilate with the salty breeze of a sultry summer noon, your bookmark has skipped too many pages too soon!
