In the Land of Memory
The bright flame, extinguished before it was time
Getting summons from above, Connie departed,
To a land silent and blissful to join her folks.
Though it was an unexpected call, she didn’t tarry.
Relinquishing all earthly pursuits, she gracefully bowed.
What drew me close to her was her attitude and wisdom
Was mature enough to forgo and forget what was gone
Appreciate and be joyful in what yet remained
And willing to brace for what was to come!
