Forever and a Day

My love I’m right here Forever by your side I am strong enough for two Never will I let you down It breaks my heart To see your vitality Slowly fade to nothing But the eyes don’t lie The twinkle is still there Down deep inside The love’s still there Deep down inside The memories we made They’ll never fade When I hold your hand And see your smile My heart melts a little more It brings me back to yesterday Always I’ll be right here By your side My love My heart My soul Always I will love you Forever and a day Published in my 24-page photo/anthology ~CAN'T IMAGINE~ 2020 AP: 1st place 2021 Submitted on February 16, 2019 for contest I'M ALWAYS RIGHT HERE sponsored by CRAIG CORNISH

This is so tender, so poignant, Line. It's really breathtakingly beautiful. An absolute FAVE. (And I'm insanely jealous--not really, although I should be--- of your husband.... I have to restrain myself: 'Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's property, his wife, etc.... It really does work when it really does apply, as here...). Blessings, Gershon

This is a wonder poem talking about a serious aspect of life. But I really see in this poem is what a good heart and soul you have. The best to you and yours.

I love the sincerity of this poem, Line, and it's touching that although his memory of times you shared fades, you remain by your side. Dementia can recede for moments of time and your description of the "twinkle" you still see is so well penned. Best wishes in the contest, Carolyn

Hi Line - Wow - I just thought I'd have a look at your material esp as you were good enough to comment on mine. The lines 'My love My heart My soul', is what my late wife had engraved on the back of my watch. It was a surprise to see, I can tell you! + I enjoyed the poem. It resonates strongly.

Thankfully my husband's mind is not fading... yet... LOL... The haunting music that was the inspiration (Kevin Kern's piano composition 'I'm Always Right Here') is most beautiful and it's all in the way the lyrics are read. Thanks for your lovely visit and compliment, Constance.
