If This Is Teenage Angst

I hope I struggle with it forever. If being a teenager means finally understanding the world around us, Finally taking off the rose colored glasses And seeing clearly how cruel life truly is, If teenage angst Is being unaccepting And shocked And furious And unforgiving And hating, of the fact that We have been lied to, for our whole lives. The real stories are ugly. The princess is depressed, that’s why she sleeps so much, And the prince that saved her really raped her. If anger, At these revelations Is Teen Angst, More people should be Angry. -A.E.
