I Wept, and My Tears Were a Waste

I Wept, And My Tears Were A Waste True, life wept for eternity I that was once too blind to see; And later set to thus atone For true, the sweeter hope was gone Birthing jagged shards emptiness I felt broken chains of kindness, Where stormy seas sent waves crashing Slept I, with my teeth a gnashing But therein was a heart crying For the love sadly dying. With pain and dark sorrows growing Black poison seeds I was sowing, I wept and my tears were a waste As all life left was bitter taste. Now experience has taught World's fast flowing rivers are fraught With whatever loss Fate decides, And agonies the future hides I see. False truths that were in me Blackened fruits of vanity Revealed my humanity Weak flesh and blind insanity. Life wept to touch eternity. I that was once too blind to see. R.J. Lindley, Jan 11th, 1981 Dramatic verse ( How Darkness ruled before the Light came )

You spill your emotions with heartfelt words, Robert. Probably, in reality, those tears were not all a waste; they too would have served a purpose...and that is why you finally managed to find the way out of darkness. None of us are perfect; the important thing is that we learn how to overcome our weaknesses. ~ Best regards // paul
