I am as lonely as a ghost wandering between life and death. Yet being alive hurts the most, for grief now haunts my every breath. You were my future and my hope, how am I expected to cope? My life feels empty without you standing solidly by my side. For this once whole heart, shared by two, split asunder the day you died. My pillow, dampened by my tears, absorbs anxieties and fears. And I seek comfort in prayer, asking the Lord to bless your soul. You're in heaven; wait for me there, and someday soon, we will be whole. For death's not the end; I believe there's more to life than we perceive. Time has slowly shifted sad dreams, to happy memories, we've shared. And now, I don't have nightmare screams, though, at times, I still wake up scared. But then, I feel you in my heart and know; death can't keep us apart. (Rhyme) 09/20/2022

Hello Emile, I read this poem you created. It brought back the memories of the time my husband passed. The tears tat flowed endlessly night and day. It r lonely when a spouse dies and the other is alone. Widow or widower loneliness is felt. Enjoy your day my friend.-Darlene

Thanks, Milt, poignancy is an apt description of what I was striving to describe, my friend, Emile.
