I Shall Not Run
I shall not walk the paths they trod
Who spurned the truth with talk of God.
I shall not walk those paths!
Nor shall I shed an insensitive tear,
With those who falsely flank the bier
Of brother and sister; another soul slain,
For children who are not at all to blame
Lost, forgotten in sycophants' shame.
I shall not shed an insolent tear!
I shall not walk where mothers cry
For sons and daughters left to die
Unjustly, ‘midst the rubble of their dreams
For me hypocrisy it seems!
I shall not walk. I shall run the race
For mercy, justice, love, and grace
They that run shall not be weary!
