I Say a Prayer

I welcome in the beauty of this luminous blue moon
watching brilliant ribbons of blue and silver light
join the soothing space of angels that we call twilight ;
I flow into the depth of night and listen to the songs
of Choraleers in plight,
" Oh dawning rose of lore won't you sing to me of more?
whence from this even flow of peace derives,
mayhap by the resplendent flute of sages from afar?"
I hark the tune within my ear, like channeled birds of lace
it's like a fan of heaven here where every note is Grace ;
In taffeta she swings with soft array throughout the air
pairing faithful arms she aims, while stars un-chair
Beneath the galaxy a silent loon glides by and I
like all the other living things on earth, begin to fly
towards a lustrous blazing mirror, from on high.
I welcome in the beauty of this luminous blue moon
then lose myself in her polished sky as I say a prayer,
for you and I.....
