I Know, This Is Just About, As Good As It Gets

I Know, This Is Just About, As Good As It Gets I walk forest paths because they are my best choice Find the calm by hearing Mother Nature's true voice. With eyes clear I see fish flop, lake water glisten I view Nature's paintings, to its music listen. As welcomed sun renews my newly stirred blood I wade the low streams, feeling their cool, oozing mud. As clouds above move in to give the needed shade I marvel at this tapestry Nature hath made. Trekking on to highest of bright green forested hills Looking down, lakeside beauty, its many thrills. I feel calming breeze as Nature enters my veins I have left behind dark world and its many stains. As red sun cries out that it is about to set I know this is just about as good as it gets. Robert J. Lindley, 2-20-2018 Sonnet 12/12, (Nature and Its Magnificent Gifts) Note - Date given as presented today. However, this poem was written back in 1982. I edited the poem this morn, to now present it in 12 syllable verses instead of the previous ten syllable verses of the original 1982 poem.

You have a magic touch with your poems Robert. They flow and move from line to line in perfect sync and you never skimp on the imagery to rhyme or keep your syllables. I still think you are a master poet my friend.

Very beautiful, Robert. Awesome that you still have poems from 1982. I'm impressed. How did you accomplish given the precomputer age? A journal, perhaps?
