I Had a Thought
Had a thought the other day
it just vaguely slipped away
no footprints left, no scented trail
my thought it seems had naught to say
so it just vaguely, slipped away
its lifelong dream was not to fail
and yet my thought it lingers still
with others, vaguely slipped away
for thoughts are thoughts they have no will
it couldn’t make the music play
so it just vaguely slipped away
that thought I had the other day.
